Zweirad Trautwein - BULLS Bikes Katalog 2024

Together for the environment: We take responsibility As passionate cyclists and nature lovers, a sustainable approach to the environment is a matter of course for the employees of the BULLS brand. In order to conserve resources and actively combat environmental degradation, the Zweirad-Einkaufs-Genossenschaft (ZEG) has been a member of the European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) with its own BULLS brand since the beginning of 2023 and is committed to regular environmental audits and declarations. „As the largest association of specialist bicycle retailers in Europe, we see it as our duty to promote sustainability in the bicycle industry together with our member companies,“ says ZEG CEO Fred Schierenbeck. All measures and actions within the framework of our environmental strategy are monitored and coordinated by an internal environmental management team. ZEG Zweirad-Einkaufs-Genossenschaft eG has already achieved a recycling rate of 100 per cent for used industrial batteries in accordance with the calculation method of Section 2 (19) of the German Battery Act. To this end, ZEG and its 670 specialist retailers have joined the large-scale recycling project of tyre manufacturer Schwalbe. In addition, ZEG joined the System Innovation for Sustainable Development (S:NE) initiative, which was launched by the German Federal Ministry of Research and Development in collaboration with Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. Under the overarching theme of material compliance, the bicycle industry‘s supply chains are being analysed for harmful substances and environmental risks in order to ensure more sustainable and ecological production in the future. „We are at the beginning of a process in which new structures need to be created in order to drive forward projects that quickly lead to visible results,“ says Schierenbeck. „We are aware of our responsibility and will successively integrate all brands and sub-areas of ZEG. Together we can make a difference. That‘s what we‘re working on.“ >> Als größter Verbund von Fahrradfachhändlern in Europa sehen wir uns in der Pflicht, gemeinsammit unseren Mitgliedsbetrieben das Thema Nachhaltigkeit in der Fahrradbranche voranzutreiben<< >>As the largest association of specialist bicycle retailers in Europe, we see it as our duty to promote sustainability in the bicycle industry together with our member companies<< Fred Schierenbeck, ZEG-Vorstand REG.NO.
